Given the immigration status and lack of English language skills of many of our participants, owning a small business can be a viable financial alternative. The project offers a culturally and educationally appropriate Small Business Development curriculum tailored to students' needs, skill levels and interests. The focus of Adelante's Micro Enterprise development is small-scale, sustainable agriculture. We provide intensive training in organic farming, and direct marketing. In addition, Adelante founded and manages the Forest Grove Farmers Market as a way to promote a sustainable economy and cross-cultural communication.

How is Adelante Mujeres involved with the Forest Grove Farmers Market?
The Forest Grove Farmers Market is managed by Adelante Mujeres. The Market runs every Wednesday beginning mid-May through mid-October. It is open from 4pm to 8pm. The Farmers Market is located on Main Street in downtown Forest Grove.

How can I volunteer for Adelante Mujeres?
Volunteers are always needed and appreciated. Please contact us for opportunities in our school, office, and at the Farmers Market. NOW is the time to start volunteering!!

How many women and children has Adelante Mujeres helped?
98 women and their pre-school aged children have gone through the program.  Numerous other women have participated in seminars, trainings and classes.

Does Adelante Mujeres work with just women and girls?
Adelante Mujeres works with the entire family.  We believe by educating the woman in a family the overall education of a family improves.  We also offer trainings and micro-enterprise classes to men and women.
