La Esperanza Distributor

In the spring of 2012 the Adelante Micro Enterprise program will celebrate the launch of its newest initiative, La Esperanza Distributor.

La Esperanza Distributor works to connect local, organic and sustainable Latino farmers with high-quality institutional consumers in Washington County.

La Esperanza Distributor is the marketing arm of La Esperanza Farm, a project of the Adelante Agricultura program. La Esperanza Farm is an organic farming incubator located in the heart of Forest Grove, providing space for eleven families to begin and grow their farming enterprises. The farmers at La Esperanza Farm will sell their produce to La Esperanza Distributor, which will market their collective products to institutional partners.

We are very excited about this new social venture, proud that it will create strong connections between large institutions and local family farms.

To help share this news we asked Professor Michelle Nelson's Social Entrepreneurship class from Linfield College to dream up some catchy and creative marketing materials for La Esperanza Distributor.

They did a wonderful job creating colorful and informative brochures describing the distributor project, the families it serves, and the partnerships it builds.

Check out a few of them!

We will customize these flyers and use them to outreach to new buyers, and we send many thanks to the members of the class (Danny Brown, Kathy Byers, Aziza Jappie, Heather McClellan, Robby Richardson, and Greg Schockelt) for their hard work and to Professor Michelle Nelson who proposed Adelante Mujeres as a project partner for their class.

The Linfield Social Enterprise class had a few social innovators of its own. Check out their projects: Paws Assisting Veterans, a foundation dedicated to training service dogs for local veterans; and LINCS, "a non-profit organization that focuses on positive youth development for the youth in the West Valley (Sheridan, Willamina and Grand Ronde)."

And, stay tuned for more updates about La Esperanza Distributor!
