Volunteer with the Adelante Educación Program
Adelante Educación provides adult education to low income Latina women using a popular education model that places academic learning within the context of participants lives.
Current opportunities to volunteer with Adelante Educación:
Computer Tutors: Adelante Mujeres offers basic computer classes to participants, and seeks Computer Tutor volunteers to meet once per week with a participant to practice the skills learned in class. Spanish required.
Intercambio/Language Exchange: Want to learn Spanish and help an Adelante Mujeres participant learn English? Become an intercambio partner! Participate in a weekly group conversation session, or we'll help you find a partner with a similar schedule.
English Language Development (ELD) Assistant: Assist ELD Instructor during class, work with small groups or individual students, prepare materials for class, assist teacher with curriculum development.
Math Classroom Assistant: Assist the instructor by working one on one with adult students as they master basic mathematics in preparation for GED and life-skills.
General Tutors: Support Adelante Educación participants by offering your tutoring services in English Language Development (aka ESL), Math, and more.
