Washington County Civic Leaders Graduation

This year, we held our first-ever Spanish-speaking training of the Washington County Civic Leaders. Congratulations to all the graduates! Thank you for being so committed to our community.

What is The Washington County Civic Leaders Program?

The Washington County Civic Leaders Program was created by Adelante Mujeres in collaboration with Washington County in 2017, to address the lack of culturally-responsive leadership trainings for the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. Our program invites community members who have historically been excluded from civic leadership to complete a hands-on leadership training to equip our communities with the tools they need to advocate for themselves and the future they wish to see.

Thank you to, Chair Kathryn Harrington, Commissioners Nafisa Fai, Pam Treece, Roy Rogers, and Jerry Willey; as well as Christina Barboza and Amanda Garcia-Snell from the Office of Equity, Inclusion & Community Engagement; and all our guest speakers from the Boards and Commissions and David Martinez, Assistant County Administrator.

¡Sigan Adelante!
