Stories have power.

At Adelante Mujeres, we are always telling the stories of the women and families that we serve because stories have the power to create change and open minds.

That’s why we are proud to support the upcoming event DREAMs Deferred Live, and we hope you join us!

The Immigrant Story is collaborating with Students for Non-violence at Portland State University, to present “DREAMs Deferred Live.” We invite you to hear five compelling stories told — and lived — by members of our Latinx immigrant community who made arduous and dangerous journeys across the border to the United States.

Saturday, April 11, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Lincoln Recital Hall at Portland State University, 1620 SW Park Avenue

DREAMs Deferred Live kicks off at 7 p.m. with a musical performance. Afterward, from 8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., five storytellers from Mexico and Central America will share unique stories about their lives as immigrants.

Storytellers:
Ivan Hernandez, Mexico
Xiomara Torres, El Salvador
Miguel Rodriquez, Mexico
Bernal Cruz, Guatemala
Liliana Luna, Mexico

Musical Guest:
Gerardo Calderon, Mexico

This free event is made possible by the generous contribution of the Zidell Family Foundation.
