Urge City Council: Make Forest Grove a Sanctuary City

Dear Friends, 

This past Monday evening, a powerful representation of Adelante participants, staff and other community members testified and bore witness in support of declaring Forest Grove a Sanctuary City. We packed City Hall! 

Read the article in the Forest Grove News-Times. 

Now we need to bring this effort home by flooding the City's email box with our strong support for a Sanctuary City declaration. 

Please take action today!

Even if you don't live in Forest Grove, your voice is important as someone whose efforts support residents of Forest Grove.

Dear Mayor Truax and Forest Grove City Councilors:

As a (concerned citizen, supporter of Adelante Mujeres, Adelante Mujeres volunteer), I respectfully ask that you designate Forest Grove a Sanctuary City. A general declaration of inclusivity is insufficiently robust at this time given the deep concern and fear our community is experiencing. 

These times call for a bold response. This is why the term Sanctuary City, which carries deep symbolic significance, is needed. It is recognized nationally and historically as a clear designation of support for immigrants and other persecuted groups.
