Our committees
Racial Justice Task Force (RJTF)
The vision of the Racial Justice Task Force is to create opportunities for learning, collaboration and open dialogue that contribute to addressing and unlearning racism and white supremacy.
We aim to support, uplift, and learn from people who have been most historically impacted by white supremacy, systemic racism, and colonization. We envision a work environment in which people are engaged in continuous learning about equity, justice, and inclusion, and where staff feel empowered to have difficult conversations about topics like race, gender, culture and more.
Team members: Alejandra Leudo, Andrea Chunga-Celis, Araceli Mendez, Cristina Delgado, Norma Hernandez, Paola Pereira, Petrona Dominguez Francisco, Melany Vergara, Estefania Rodriguez.
Climate Justice and Action Task-force
Our taskforce began as a group of concerned staff members after the wildfires of 2021. We wanted a space where we could come together as an organization to talk about Climate Change in our Community and how we can best address it as an organization through action and education. Now we are a group of 13 staff members across all of Adelante's departments working to create climate justice in our organization and communities on a monthly basis.
Team Members: Xandi Aranda, Paola Pereira, , Bailey Matlock, Anabertha Alvarado, Melany Vergara, Sage Fairman, Maria Dolores Torres, Ana Uribe, Frida Mendoza, Francia N. Yera Reynoso, Karen Caudillo, Carla Fisanich.
