On September 19, 2019, we officially launched our La Lucha Monthly Giving Program! Wieden+Kennedy teamed up with Adelante Mujeres to start this program off with a bang at the launch party.

Over 300 people came out to celebrate Latina empowerment, to learn about the work that Adelante Mujeres is doing, and to party for a good cause.

Hosted at Wieden+Kennedy as part of their Latinx Heritage Month celebration, the evening was full of Latinx culture: Latina-made cuisine, an art exhibit featuring amazing work by local Latinx artists, local craft beer from Xicha Brewing (shout out to Xicha for their always generous support!), beats by Latina DJs, and more.

23 people joined our La Lucha Monthly Giving Community, which means our programs can reach 6 more people every month.

What does that impact look like?

Each month…

…another girl like Lizeth can participate in Chicas….

…another woman like Blanca can learn how to start her own business

…another woman like Monica can take our trauma healing workshop

…another woman like Diana can learn how to become a community activist

…another woman like Estela can take our GED prep classes

…and another child like Angel can receive support in our bilingual preschool classes.

The impact is huge, and these changes ripple through our communities. Thank you to everyone who is a part of La Lucha! You are making this happen!

Check out the video recap if you missed the big event!

In addition to our 23 new La Lucha members, we also received $500 in direct donations during the party. It blows us away to see how supportive our community is, and the difference we can make when we all come together for good.

We want to give an extra special shout out to the amazing people at Wieden+Kennedy, for not only donating their amazing space for the night, but also for matching the first $2,500 of La Lucha monthly gifts!

Haven’t joined La Lucha yet and want to have your first month matched by Wieden+Kennedy?
